Installation methods and types of lathing
PVC panels can be attached in two ways:
- to the wall surface;
- to the lathing.
The first type of fastening (frameless) is possible if the walls have a virtually perfect surface, and all the angles are “correct”. Fastening to the walls is carried out using the same adhesive solutions as PVC tiles. And the surface must be dust-free and primed.
Important! When choosing glue, you must pay attention to the fact that it does not contain solvents, that is, it is contact or dispersion. For example, “liquid nails” based on PVC or acrylic copolymers.
In case of frame fastening, a lathing is mounted on the wall, which is placed perpendicular to the direction of the PVC panels. If the finishing is simple (for example, only vertical), then the lathing is done with a step of 30-50 cm, evenly distributed from edge to edge of the surface to be covered. In case of combined laying, the lathing repeats the “pattern” of the panels, turned by 90°. Moreover, the lathing elements should also be located on the borders of the pattern (so that the edge of the panels does not “hang” in the air).
